Presented by Big Picture Show/Moving Pictures
This heart-warming comedy-drama set in 1970s Argentina follows disillusioned British teacher Tom Michell, who takes a job at an elite boys' school in Buenos Aires during a time of political unrest. While vacationing in Uruguay, he happens to rescue a lone penguin from an oil spill and smuggles it back to the school. The penguin becomes an unlikely catalyst for change, helping Michell connect with his students and rediscover his sense of purpose. As Argentina teeters on the brink of dictatorship, Michell is drawn into the lives of those around him, forcing him to confront his own values and courage.
