Performance date and time
Friday, 13th March 2026
7:00 PM

Immerse yourself in the sounds of England’s Middle Ages with this utterly unique musical performance by de Mowbray’s Musicke, a specialist trio of musicians and dancers who perform medieval songs, dressed in authentic costume and blending a deep knowledge of history and skilled musicianship with a great sense of fun and unique entertainment. Throughout the show, you’ll learn about Sir Geoffrey Luttrell and the creation of England’s most celebrated medieval manuscript - the Luttrell Psalter currently in the British Library. During the interval, a copy of this iconic text can be viewed along with 17 instruments depicted in its pages, which are all featured in the show! This is a rare opportunity to experience the diverse sounds of medieval instruments, from the gentle symphonie to the lively shawms, while the performers invite you to join in singing traditional melodies. A perfect show for music lovers, history enthusiasts and anyone seeking a unique night of entertainment.

“I loved the costumes, the knowledge, skill and humility, sense of humour, interaction with the audience…a delight in the history, the music, the lifestyle - the importance of the psalter itself as a thing of beauty as well as a document of history.”
